In 1978 the Granada appeared in the top ten for sales in Britain, where the Mark II sold strongly, and in October the Granada began a Korean career, with Ford subcontracting assembly to Hyundai in South Korea, where it sold until 1986 when the Grandeur took over. The Mark II was in its first full model year, with the square body introduced in August 1977 that matched the contemporary Cortina Mark IV, and it was the first full model year of the Mark II.
