The second generation, from the full model change of October 1991, gave the van a mid engine layout with the engine under the load floor, while the truck kept the cab over layout. It had three cylinder SOHC engines, with a 61 PS intercooled turbo, and in April 1997 it moved from the Autozam brand back to Mazda. Production ended in December 1998. The car was sold in Japan by Mazda as a kei commercial vehicle. Its model years run from 1991 to 1998.
