A partial improvement was made to the Scrum in February 1993. The Scrum of 1993 was in its third year as the second generation, an Autozam branded kei van and truck that was an OEM version of the Suzuki Every and Carry, with a mid engine van and a cab over truck, and with a three cylinder SOHC engine in turbo and naturally aspirated forms. The name Scrum comes from the rugby term, chosen to suggest cooperation among customers and the Mazda group.
