The fourth generation Continental of 1961 to 1969 consolidated the Lincoln range into one model after Ford lost 60 million dollars on the 1958 to 1960 cars. It was nearly 15 inches shorter, with a clean slab sided design, a four door sedan and the first four door convertible sold after the Second World War, and a pillarless two door hardtop added in 1966. In 1961 it was the first American car sold with a two year warranty. It also served as a presidential state car. Each model year has its own page.
