Lincoln Continental (third generation, Mark III to Mark V)

Automobiles

The third generation, called the Mark III, Mark IV and Mark V, moved the Continental into a competitor to the Cadillac Eldorado and Imperial LeBaron at a 6,000 dollar price. It gave up hand building and shared production with Lincoln at the new Wixom plant, as a four door sedan, a Landau hardtop, a two door hardtop and, exclusive to Continental, a convertible. Its size and headlights earned it the nickname slant-eyed monster, and Ford cancelled the Continental division in 1959. Each model year has its own page.
