The second generation was delayed to January 1968 by a strike, and Ford sold it as a 1969 model. It lost its Falcon roots for a heavier front engine layout with the Twin I Beam front suspension of the F Series, a longer wheelbase and an optional V8, and it brought the Hi Cube cab chassis in 1972. Its model years run from 1968 to 1974. The E Series was Ford's full size van, sold as the Econoline and Club Wagon and as a cutaway chassis.
