1970 Ford E-Series

Automobiles

The launch of the second generation Econoline van was delayed almost four months by a lengthy strike of the United Auto Workers in 1967, and by 1970 the front engine van had become a heavier duty vehicle. It had a conventional hood for engine access and a conventional grille styled like the F Series. The E Series was Ford's full size van, sold as the Econoline and Club Wagon and as a cutaway chassis. It was the best selling full size van in the United States from 1980 until the Transit replaced the vans in 2014.
