The Eagle Summit was a subcompact car that Mitsubishi produced and Eagle sold from 1989 to 1996 as a captive import for the Jeep and Eagle dealers that Chrysler formed after buying American Motors. It was a badge engineered Mitsubishi Mirage, joining the Dodge and Plymouth Colt, and it was built in Japan and, from 1991, also at the Diamond Star plant in Illinois. A separate Summit Wagon minivan, based on the Mitsubishi RVR, was sold from 1992. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 2 generations: the first generation (1989 to 1992); the second generation (1993 to 1996).
