The X1 is BMW's smallest sport utility vehicle, a subcompact luxury crossover launched in 2009 and now in its third generation. The first generation was built on the 3 Series platform with rear wheel drive as standard, and the second and third moved to the front wheel drive UKL platform that it shares with the 2 Series Active Tourer and the Mini Countryman, with all wheel drive as an option. The electric iX1 joined the range in 2022. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 3 generations: the E84 (2009 to 2015); the F48, F49 (2015 to 2022); the U11, U12 (2022 to 2026).
