Mercury Marquis

Automobiles

The Marquis was a Mercury model line from 1967 to 1986, named for a title of French nobility and introduced as the divisional counterpart of the Ford LTD. It began as the flagship of the full size range and was the basis for the later Grand Marquis. The first three generations were full size, and for the fourth the name moved to the mid size Fox platform until the Sable replaced it after 1986. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 4 generations: the first generation (1967 to 1968); the second generation (1969 to 1978); the third generation (1979 to 1982); the fourth generation (1983 to 1986).
