For 1967 the Marquis was introduced as a two door hardtop above the Park Lane, as the counterpart of the Ford LTD, with a standard vinyl roof giving it a wider C pillar. It differed from the LTD in its higher specification interior, with wood trim in place of simulated wood and optional leather unavailable on the LTD. The standard engine was a 410 cubic inch Marauder V8 producing 330 horsepower, with a four speed manual standard.
