For 1968 the 410 engine of the Marquis was replaced by a 390 cubic inch Marauder Super 390 V8 producing 315 horsepower, shared with the Park Lane and Brougham, and a three speed manual replaced the four speed, with the automatic returning as an option. The 428 cubic inch Super Marauder V8 was an option for both years, retuned to 340 horsepower in 1968. It kept the Twin Comfort Lounge front seats. The Marquis was a divisional counterpart of the Ford LTD.
