Chevrolet Impala

Automobiles

The Impala was the flagship passenger car of Chevrolet for much of its life and one of the best selling American made cars. It began in 1958 as the top Bel Air, grew into a model of its own, was a V8 rear drive full size car until 1985, came back in 1994 to 1996 as a performance sedan, and from 2000 to 2020 was a front wheel drive sedan. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 10 generations: the first generation, 1958 (1958); the second generation, 1959 to 1960 (1959 to 1960); the third generation, 1961 to 1964 (1961 to 1964); the fourth generation, 1965 to 1970 (1965 to 1970); the fifth generation, 1971 to 1976 (1971 to 1976); the sixth generation, 1977 to 1985 (1977 to 1985); the seventh generation, Impala SS, 1994 to 1996 (1994 to 1996); the eighth generation, 2000 to 2005 (2000 to 2005); the ninth generation, 2006 to 2013 (2006 to 2013); the tenth generation, 2014 to 2020 (2014 to 2020).
