Chevrolet Impala (first generation, 1958)

Automobiles

The first Impala was introduced for the 1958 model year as the top of the line Bel Air hardtop coupe and convertible, although Bel Air badging was left off the car and its advertising. It was named after a 1956 General Motors Motorama show car, was longer, lower and wider than the 1957 Chevrolet, and was set apart by symmetrical triple taillights. It was sold only for the 1958 model year, as a one year body.
