The Legnum was the station wagon of the eighth generation Galant, 30 mm taller than the sedan with roof rails and a longer rear overhang for more luggage space, with a multi link suspension on all four wheels. Its top VR-4 had a twin turbo V6 and the AYC rear differential control. Japanese sales ended in December 2002 and export sales in December 2006. It won the Japan Car of the Year award in 1996. Its model years run from 1996 to 2006.
