The Legnum of 2001 was in its sixth year, a station wagon of the Galant that Mitsubishi built to rival the Subaru Legacy Touring Wagon, with a 1.8 liter or 2.0 liter GDI four cylinder engine or a V6 twin turbo in the flagship VR-4. All four wheels had a multi link five link suspension, which gave good straight line stability and cornering, and the car was popular in North America and Oceania. The Legnum was the station wagon of the eighth generation Galant, developed against the Subaru Legacy Touring Wagon.
