BMW 1 Series

Automobiles

The 1 Series is BMW's entry level car, introduced in 2004 as the successor to the 3 Series Compact and now in its fourth generation. The first two generations were rear wheel drive hatchbacks, coupes and convertibles, the coupe and convertible were spun off as the 2 Series in 2014, and the third and fourth generations moved to front wheel drive as five door hatchbacks only. A Chinese market sedan, the F52, was built from 2017 to 2023. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 4 generations: the E81, E82, E87, E88 (2004 to 2013); the F20, F21 (2011 to 2019); the F40 (2019 to 2024); the F70 (2024 to 2026).
