Subaru Sambar (sixth generation)

Automobiles

The sixth generation was released in February 1999, redesigned from 1998 when the kei class vehicle size regulations allowed for an increase in body size. The 4WD Dias is now only offered with a three speed automatic transmission, with the supercharged engine output increased to 58 PS. To address safety concerns with side impact resistance, on 1 October 1998 the width restriction for kei vehicles was increased to 1,480 millimeters and the Sambar was widened accordingly. Its model years run from 1999 to 2011.
