Originally designed and made in Japan, the Justy was introduced for the 1984 model year as a widened and stretched version of the Rex kei car, using the same doors and other pressings. To Japanese buyers it was longer and wider, with an engine larger than the kei car regulations allowed, while the displacement stayed just under 1000 cc to minimize the annual road tax. It was powered by a one liter or 1.2 liter EF three cylinder engine. Its model years run from 1984 to 1994.
