The second generation BRZ debuted on 18 November 2020 and went on sale in the United States in late 2021, with the Toyota version introduced later on 5 April 2021 as the GR86. The roof, bonnet and front wings are aluminum to lower the center of gravity, and the architecture adopts elements from the Subaru Global Platform, claiming 50 percent more torsional rigidity. Its new FA24D engine of 2,387 cubic centimeters makes up to 235 PS. Its model years run from 2021 on.
