In April 2025 Toyota announced the Yuzu Edition for the 2026 model year in North America, and in September 2025 announced the Yellow Limited in Japan, both for the twin GR86. The BRZ tS was released again for the 2025 model year, and the 2025 BRZ was a rear drive 2+2 with the 2.4 liter FA24D engine of up to 235 PS. Subaru chose a naturally aspirated engine to meet the goal of developing the ultimate pure sports car. Both the BRZ and the GR86 are made at Subaru's Ota, Gunma assembly plant.
