The Sapporo was a rear wheel drive two door hardtop coupe that Mitsubishi built from 1976 to 1984, based on the third generation Galant. In Japan it was the Galant Lambda, and from 1978 also the Eterna Lambda at the Car Plaza stores. It was named Sapporo, after the Winter Olympics, in Europe and South America, Scorpion in Australia, and was sold in the United States as the Dodge Challenger and Plymouth Sapporo. It had the first square four headlights on a Japanese car and was a successor of the Galant GTO. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 2 generations: the first generation (1976 to 1979); the second generation (1980 to 1984).
