After the war Hudson resumed building cars in August 1945 with designs based on the 1942 models, which are generally counted as the Commodore's second generation. The cars received only small cosmetic changes, chiefly a grille with a prominent concave center section, but they were better equipped than competing makes, with standard armrests, twin air horns, carpeting and sealed beam headlights. Its model years run from 1946 to 1947.
