Hudson began postwar production on August 30, 1945, and the 1946 Commodore was the 1942 design with small cosmetic changes, the main one a grille whose center section now curved inward. Even so it was fully equipped by the standards of the day, with standard door armrests, ashtrays, a locking glove box, deep pile carpet and, on Commodores, foam rubber seat cushions that Hudson had pioneered in 1939. Three transmission options were offered.
