The earliest Model Ts are recognised by a hood with five straight sides and a flat top, and a flat firewall that has no real cowl, and they were lit by acetylene flame headlamps because a flame survives wind and rain. The fuel tank sat under the front seat. Until 1913 the car could not be had in black, only in gray, green, blue or red, and the black only policy arrived in 1914. Production moved from the Piquette Avenue plant to Highland Park in 1910, and the moving assembly line began in October 1913. Each model year has its own page.
