1912 Ford Model T

Automobiles

By 1912 every Model T was being painted midnight blue with black fenders, a step on the way from the early gray, green, blue and red cars to the all black cars of 1914. Underneath, the front axle was forged from one piece of vanadium steel, a material Ford championed, and the company liked to twist some axles through eight full turns and send them to dealers for display, to show that they would not break.
