The fourth Anglia model, the 105E, was introduced in 1959 with American influenced styling including a sweeping nose line, muted tailfins, and a backward slanting rear window. It had a new 997 cc overhead valve, 39 horsepower straight four known as the Kent engine, and a four speed manual gearbox, new to British Fords. It was commercially successful, and the Ford Escort replaced it. Its model years run from 1959 to 1967.
