From October 1963 production of the Anglia continued at Ford's new Halewood plant at Merseyside alongside the newly introduced Corsair models. The Anglia Super for the 1963 model year was accompanied by the Estate 1200, and the larger 1198 cc engine of the 123E series produced 48.5 horsepower, enough for a claimed top speed just short of 83 miles per hour. The Anglia was commercially successful, though overshadowed by the Cortina.
