The Anglia Super, the 123E, was introduced in September 1962, sharing the longer stroke 1198 cc version of the Kent engine from the newly introduced Ford Cortina, and the four speed gearbox became all synchromesh. In October 1962, twins Tony and Michael Brookes and friends took an Anglia 105E with a 13 pound Ford Performance Kit to Montlhery near Paris and captured six International Class G World Records. The Super was distinguished by a painted contrasting side stripe.
