Rolls-Royce is the British luxury car marque that Charles Rolls and Henry Royce launched in 1906, famous for the Silver Ghost and for cars built to a standard of refinement that made the name a byword for the best of anything. The marque has had two lives. Rolls-Royce Limited and then Rolls-Royce Motors made the cars at Derby and Crewe until 2002, and since 2003 a new BMW owned company has built them at Goodwood in West Sussex, with no direct line of ownership between the two. This site records each era's builder separately on every model and year page.
