The Phantom II closed the 40/50 hp line as its third and last car, taking the place of the New Phantom in 1929 with an improved version of its engine in an all-new chassis. The chassis was lower, with the engine bolted directly to the four speed gearbox and a Hotchkiss drive. A Continental version with a short wheelbase and stiffer springs was offered, and 1,681 chassis of all types were built at Derby. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (1929 to 1935).
