Ford Sierra

Automobiles

The Sierra was Ford of Europe's rear wheel drive family car of the 1980s, a hatchback and estate with a smooth aerodynamic shape that earned it the nickname jellymould. It replaced the Cortina and the Taunus in October 1982, gained a saloon called the Sapphire in 1987, spawned the Cosworth and four wheel drive performance versions, and was succeeded by the front wheel drive Mondeo in 1993. It was built mostly in Belgium and Britain. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (1982 to 1993).
