In June 1977 the Minica grew again as the Minica Ami 55, with a 546 cc Vulcan 2G23 engine making 31 PS, and later with the lean burn Vulcan II. The traditional Panhard layout remained. In September 1981 it got a new rear end and became the Minica Ami L, with the Minica Econo replacing the old Van, and in March 1983 the Ami L Turbo was the first turbo kei car. Its model years run from 1977 to 1983.
