The Minica of 1980 was in its fourth year as the Ami 55, a kei car with the 546 cc Vulcan II engine of 31 PS and a Panhard rear axle, sold beside the Minica 55 Van, whose body dated from 1969. The Van stayed in production until it was replaced by the Minica Econo in 1981, and it had a choice of equipment levels from Standard to Super Deluxe. The traditional Panhard layout remained. The Minica 55 Van was available in a few different equipment levels.
