September 1978 brought another engine upgrade to the Minica, the new Vulcan II G23B with the lean burn MCA Jet emissions control system, a hemispherical head, aluminium rocker arms and three valves per cylinder, though the power outputs remained static. The model code became A106, with A106V for the van, which kept using the bodywork of the second generation. The traditional Panhard layout remained. The Minica 55 Van was available in a few different equipment levels.
