The Minica of 1982 was in its first full year as the Ami L, with a two speed semi automatic gearbox available on all models and a four speed manual for the Econo with lower gearing. The engine was quieter, with a milder cam profile, and the top speed of the Ami was 110 km/h. A year after the redesign the Minica was sold with the new MMC logo rather than the old three diamonds. The traditional Panhard layout remained.
