The Toyota Sienna is a minivan that Toyota builds mainly for the North American market, named after the Italian city of Siena in Tuscany. It was launched in 1997 for the 1998 model year as a front wheel drive replacement for the mid engined Previa and the Camry wagon, sharing a heavily revised platform with the Camry, and it has been redesigned for 2004, 2011 and 2021. Through the second decade it was the only minivan in its class in North America with an all wheel drive option. The current fourth generation, a hybrid only model, is the first to be built outside the United States, with production in China. Generations with their own pages on this site: the first generation, XL10 (1998 to 2003); the second generation, XL20 (2004 to 2010); the third generation, XL30 (2011 to 2020); the fourth generation, XL40 (2021 to 2025).
