The Windstar was Ford's front wheel drive minivan, built at Oakville, Ontario, from the 1995 to the 2007 model years and sold in its last generation as the Freestar. It was the second minivan Ford designed, aimed at the Chrysler minivans, and replaced the rear drive Aerostar. The Freestar of 2004 to 2007 had a Mercury counterpart, the Monterey, which has its own page, while the Mercury Villager was an unrelated Nissan design. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 3 generations: the first generation (1995 to 1998); the second generation (1999 to 2003); the third generation, Freestar (2004 to 2007).
