The Lantis used the CB platform of Mazda, closely related to the Eunos 500 and Xedos 6 and the 1994 Capella, with front wheel drive and a transversely mounted engine. The five door was sold as the 323F in Europe and was penned by Ginger Ostle, who had worked for Porsche. Sales in Japan were lackluster, and domestic sales halted in 1997. It was sold at Mazda, Efini and Eunos dealerships. Its model years run from 1993 to 1998.
