The V6 optional engine of the Lantis had a compression ratio of 10.1 in 1993 and 1994, making 146 PS, and was raised to 10.5 to 1 and 162 PS from 1994, for the model that the maker also sold as the 323F in Europe. The five door, with its frameless windows, was designed by Ginger Ostle, who had worked for Porsche and helped design the 944. The Lantis is an FF layout car with a transversely mounted engine. The name Lantis is created from the Latin phrase Latens Curtis.
