Mazda 626 (sixth generation)

Automobiles

The sixth generation Capella, on the GF platform, arrived in 1997 as the Capella and 626 shared one platform again, with all wheel drive optional in Japan and a hatchback popular in Australasia and Europe. The North American 626, introduced for the 1998 model year, was built in Michigan and was different from those elsewhere, larger and less aggressive. A station wagon on the GW platform came in 1998. It was replaced by the Mazda6 in 2002. Its model years run from 1997 to 2002.
