The eK is the kei car range that Mitsubishi developed with Nissan, based on the long running Minica and first introduced on 11 October 2001. The name is short for excellent kei car and sounds like the Japanese for good kei car. It began as the eK Wagon and grew the eK Sport, Classy, Active, Custom and the crossover eK X, with a Nissan twin sold as the Otti from 2005 and as the Dayz from 2013. Since 2011 the cars have been made by NMKV, the joint venture of the two firms. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 4 generations: the first generation (2001 to 2005); the second generation (2006 to 2012); the third generation (2013 to 2018); the fourth generation (2019 to 2026).
