The crossover eK Active was introduced on 25 May 2004, shortly before the eK was facelifted on 20 December 2004. It had 14 inch wheels, ground clearance raised by 10 mm, front seats 45 mm higher, dark grey body cladding for an off road look and a new corporate face designed by Olivier Boulay, and came with the four speed automatic and optional four wheel drive. Most models could be had with either front- or four-wheel drive.
