The eK of 2007 was in its second year as the second generation, which had a sliding door on the passenger side that was unusual for its class, a layout later abandoned for the third generation. It was sold in Japan with a Nissan version, the Otti, which had no major differences apart from the front grille and body colors. The eK name is an abbreviation for excellent keijidosha and is meant to be pronounced ee kay. The second generation eK Wagon was sold by Nissan as the Otti.
