Ford Galaxie (second generation, 1960 to 1964)

Automobiles

The second generation covered 1960 to 1964, during which the Galaxie name spread to every full size Ford. The 1960 car introduced an all new design with less ornamentation and the pillarless Starliner, and 1961 brought a 390 cubic inch V8. In 1962 the Galaxie replaced the Fairlane in the full size line, with Galaxie 500 and 500XL models, and a fastback roof arrived in mid 1963 for NASCAR. Each model year has its own page.
