1961 Ford Galaxie

Automobiles

For 1961 the bodywork was redone again on the same underpinnings as 1960, and the tailfins were almost gone, with small blade like fins capping smaller round taillamps. Performance was beginning to be a selling point, and the Galaxie offered a new 390 cubic inch version of Ford's FE series pushrod V8, which was available with a four barrel carburetor. The car stayed a full size sedan, hardtop and convertible.
