The second generation was developed jointly by Kia and Ford and launched in 1993 with a rounder, longer and wider body. North America renamed it Aspire and received a five door hatchback for the first time, Korea called it the Kia Avella, and Australia kept the Festiva name until the Ka arrived in 2000. Its model years run from 1993 to 2000. The Festiva was a small Mazda designed hatchback that Ford sold in several markets, some of them under other names.
