In 1995 the second generation Festiva sold in Australasia, the Aspire in North America and the Avella in South Korea, where 115,576 cars were sold across 1994 and 1995. The Avella was aimed mainly at export markets wearing Ford badges, as Korean buyers tended to prefer sedans to hatchbacks. The Festiva was a small Mazda designed hatchback that Ford sold in several markets, some of them under other names. Kia in South Korea built most of the cars sold under the Festiva and Aspire names, and sold the same design as the Pride and the Avella.
