The Toyota 86 is a rear wheel drive 2+2 sports coupe that Toyota developed jointly with Subaru and that is manufactured at Subaru's assembly plant in Gunma. Its design is a naturally aspirated boxer engine in front, with a 53 to 47 weight balance and a low center of gravity, inspired by the Corolla based AE86 of the 1980s whose name it echoes. It was sold as the 86 in Asia, Australia, North America, South Africa and South America, as the GT86 in Europe, and as the Scion FR-S in North America until 2016. The second generation of 2021 is the GR 86. Subaru sells the twin as the BRZ. Generations with their own pages on this site: the first generation, ZN6 (2012 to 2020); the second generation, ZN8 (2021 to 2026).
