In 2018 Toyota sold a special edition 86 called Apollo Blue to celebrate that the 86 had passed 20,000 units sold in Australia. In February 2018 Subaru of America released a limited edition 50th Anniversary BRZ based on the Limited trim with a Heritage Blue exterior. It was model year 7 of 9 in the Toyota 86 (first generation, ZN6), 2012 to 2020, coming after the 2017 model year and before the 2019 model year.
